Clinton County Genealogical Society
Membership in the Clinton County Genealogical Society is $20. The membership year is from January 1 to December 31. Membership received after September 1 will be applied toward the next calendar year unless we are otherwise instructed. A chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, the CCGS was officially chartered in 1989.
Genealogy/Research Library Hours
The Genealogy/Research Library is housed at the Clinton County History Center, 149 E. Locust Street (PO Box 529), Wilmington, OH 45177. The library will close November 21, 2009 through March 3, 2010. In 2010, the library will be open Wednesday through Friday from 1:00 until 4:00, and the first and second Saturday of each month from 1:00 until 4:00.
The Clinton Chronicle
A quarterly newsletter published January, April, July and October, The Clinton Chronicle lists upcoming meetings, reports of past meetings, upcoming regional events of genealogical interest, new books received for the genealogy library, surname queries, and articles of local genealogical interest. An index of all Chronicles is available for researching past issues. Members may submit queries free of charge. If you join during the year, you will receive all past issues of The Clinton Chronicle for that year.
CCGS Meetings
Regular CCGS meetings are 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, except December, at the Clinton County Historical Society, 149 E. Locust St., Wilmington, Ohio (unless otherwise noted). Each session includes a topic of interest to society members.
2010 Program Calendar:
June 28 "Who Sends Thee?" - The Story and the Statue by Christine
Snyder. Program location is the Quaker Heritage
Center at Wilmington College
July 26 "Show and Tell" - bring a picture, antique, object, or curio.
Everyone should tell the story of their object.
Meeting will be a carry-in picnic at the Shelter House
at Denver Williams, Jr. Park
August 23 "Clinton County in 1810 and the Centennial of 1910
by Melissa Beal Beyerlein and Susanne Kenny.
September 26 This special meeting will be held on Sunday, September
26 at 2:00 at the Clinton County History Center.
